Fresh Breath Therapy is a North Carolina-based counseling practice offering online therapy, anxiety and depression treatment, trauma/EMDR therapy, and family and adolescent counseling. Over the course of a year, they partnered with our team to use Google Ads as a primary growth channel for attracting new clients. Their goals were straightforward: increase visibility among people actively searching for therapy in North Carolina, generate a steady stream of qualified calls and form inquiries, and maintain a cost per lead sustainable enough to support long-term practice growth.
To get there, we built a campaign targeting men and women ages 18-55 in the top 50% of household income earners, with location targeting focused on North Carolina and the practice’s primary service regions. Ad groups covered online therapy, anxiety and depression, trauma/EMDR, and therapy for adolescents, teens, and families.
We tracked both form fills and phone calls so every dollar was optimized toward real inquiries, not just website visits. The campaign launched at $1,000-$2,000 per month and scaled to around $3,000 per month mid-way through the engagement after early results proved out the model. By September, EMDR-related search terms were performing so well that the therapist providing those services became fully booked, and the client asked us to pause that campaign to manage demand.

For Fresh Breath Therapy, Google Ads became a reliable channel for generating new-client opportunities and expanding their reach across North Carolina. The combination of tightly focused search keywords, clear service messaging, and conversion tracking allowed us to keep the cost per lead in a sustainable range while scaling monthly spend.
This case illustrates how a therapy practice can use paid search to move beyond word-of-mouth alone, reaching people who are ready to take the next step and, in some cases like EMDR, even filling a provider’s schedule to the point that campaigns must be paused to manage demand.
